For many years Urgup had simple modern hotels. Now, with fancy modern hotels the norm, we finally have a place full of character : The Esbelli Evi. Suha's "home" is the best lodging of all. It has what the others lack - charm, warmth, artistry, careful service and a typically warm welcome "a la turque".

Everything is right - real orange juice, good coffee, and interesting fellow travellers - Suha chooses his customers as carefully as his customers choose him.

My congratulations to Suha - This is the sort of lodging which Urgup deserves.

Dear Suha:

We returned home with beautiful memories of the most elegant cave dwelling one could imagine. My husband and I so much appreciate your grand hospitality. We could not have wished for a more comfortable stay in Cappadocia.

Every good wish,

Suha,

We have learned the strangest things here: the insulating qualities of esbelli stone, Byzantine trivia, that the Wit of Nasrettin Hodja continues to manifest in men from Aksehir: hospitality, decency, kindness...

We have spent a great deal of time searching for a hotel like Esbelli Evi, and, now, we're pleased that there's just this one. You created this place and you deserve it.

Our heart felt thanks to a good man who we presume to consider our friend.

Sevgili Suha,

Her ikimiz de yıllardan beri Trkiye'yi geziyoruz. Sanıyorum ilk kez, tm ynleri ve tm detaylarıyla "mkemmel" diyebileceğimiz bir otel/pansiyona rastladık. Demek ki olabiliyormuş! Tebrikler.

From tripadvisor.com - "An hotelier's hotel" - December 14th, 2004
As an hotelier I am not always the easiest guest to please. But Esbelli Evi not only pleased me, it was one of the most pleasant hotel stays I can recall... Not because it is luxurious, or because of innumerable gimmicks, bells and whistles (spas, saunas, fine restaurants, etc...) There are none of these. There is a landscape and a view to take one's breath away. There is an attentiveness to the guest that is the greatest luxury of all : a true welcome. It is hard to explain what it is, but whatever it is is it is there and it is bliss. Since coming away, I can only think of when I shall be able to return.

We have been traveling for nearly four months now out of our year long journey "around the world". Esbelli Evi was such a wonderful home away from home retreat for us, one which we did not want to leave after six incredible nights. Suha, you and your staff must be commended on the extraordinary level of service offered at your property. You have thought of everything to make your guests feel as comfortable as possible. We loved the slippers in the room, the chilled beer mugs and especially the washer! After being on the road for so long, we truly appreciated those amenities. We look forward to adding Esbelli Evi to our travel web site (www.tourdelmundo.com) as one of the best places we have ever stayed at.

Never have I enjoyed staying away from my husband and my child. But this time was an exception. I loved every little corner, all three rooms, the feeling that I have new friends. The esthetic is of the highest here. I will tell everyone and show everyone photographs of the best pension in the world!

When Michael and I decided we be married in a magical place, we discussed many locales. Then I saw an article on Esbelli Evi, and I said; look, Michael, this is it! So Esbelli Evi drew us to Cappadocia. Everything has been better than we even hoped. This morning we had a wonderful wedding in an 1100 year old cave church in Avanos.

Thank you, Suha for joining us for the ceremony and lunch. And thank you especially for creating Esbelli Evi - a vision that brought two Romantics to Turkey.

Esbelli Evi was poetry for us. Here we found our feet and all at once the world had a "oneness of the ocean". Esbelli's rhythms charmed us and its voice calmed our souls.

The boys found a backyard to play in and at night they giggled to the stories of Nasreddin Hodja. They too had found happiness here.

We booked for two nights and stayed for four. Esbelli became a home. "Next time" we will bring the dog, the cat, the two budgies and the cognac. And "next time" I will find some small ears to spin my stories.

Esbelli Evi was like paradise. Every morning you wake up and have a beautiful breakfast and at night at night you would talk and play chess.

Dear Suha:

Our friend Sean McMeekin, a professor and author in Ankara, learned of our upcoming trip to Turkey, and sent this email:

"Dear Korns,

When in Cappadocia, I highly recommend the ESBELLI EV hotel in Urgup. It should be online if you google the name. Fabulous place, the owner Suha is a wonderful man, he gets really interesting guests, diplomats, writers, National Geographic photographers. The view is superb from his breakfast balcony, the authentic "cave" rooms unsurpassed. An open kitchen, they'll cook for you, or you can just poke around yourself, with wines, snacks, chilled glasses for beer, really classy. It's about $100 a night for a double room, but well worth the slight premium vs. other nice places. True class.

That's all for now, more later"

We came to Esbelli Evi for one night and stayed for four!! Such is the ambiance, character and charm of a truly delightful residence which added immense enjoyment to our visit - not just to Cappadocia, but to Turkey! And the laughs we shared will remain happy memories.... This will be a memorable holiday within a holiday - a real home away from home!

"This is a place that can't be captured in words, or film, but perhaps we can take a piece of it in our hearts and minds"

Oh, quite philosophical, isn't it? But we have really loved every minute of our stay. Suha has been true Turkish host. There's no higher praise!

Thanks for everything. One day our paths may cross again, inshallah!

...the good advice on what to do, where to go, the great breakfasts, the excellent music, the atmosphere, the scenery, the talks, and perhaps the most imprtant of all... the friendship. In all the travels I have done, and all the places I have stayed, this place - the Esbelli Evi - ranks near the top. Truly unique... making it difficult to leave.

The moment we walked in to Esbelli, we felt that we had "come home". It is now our last evening in Cappadocia, and despite all its wonders, I feel that our stay at your home will be what we remember the most. From the fresh-squeezed orange juice to the lovely classical music in the lounge to the coolness of the room to the smiles of all who helped us, we will carry the memory of Esbelli always in our hearts. Your home is a metaphor for the caring hospitality of all the Turkish people we have met.

We have traveled all over the world and we have been in many nice hotels. But we have to admit that Esbelli Evi and all the people that make it work for us, travellers, deserve a "10 star" category. It is the most beautiful hotel "in the world". Thank you for your hospitality, warmth & service.

This is one of the most beautiful places I stayed in (and I travel a lot). We made a reservation for 1 night and stayed a week. This felt like a home. It is our home in Cappadocia.

Yeni konseptimizi Kaya Evler adı altında sürdürüyoruz. Yeni konseptimize göz atmak için;
